Whence that loathed beast shewed my fate, I beheld a great slab of sound and silence and bathed in shadow and light – beyond which the world itself dropped away into darkness. A gateway. A lens to focus dreams and a cataract through which they may flow.

I strode through it ~

My lingering soul was stretched, formed over a hoop, and a great palm began patting a rhythm. From my head were plucked twelve hairs and I beheld gentle fingers strumming a melody. Hours passed, then days, then years, and we continued until I was reverberant and alive.

~ and then I awoke.
